One Year Birthday Party

Kian’s 1st birthday was such a lovely, relaxed celebration to capture. Before the guests arrived, I coordinated with his parents to use the first hour for some quieter photos in the park just next door.

We kept things simple and natural — I suggested bringing a few bits like a picnic blanket, a teddy bear, and some 1st birthday props like balloons, which worked beautifully to create soft, playful images of Kian with his parents.

Once we moved into the party, I noticed Kian had the cutest little Mercedes car, so I asked his parents if they’d like to include that — it ended up making for some really fun and memorable shots.

The rest of the session focused on documenting the celebration as it naturally unfolded. There was a baby sensory experience, lots of interaction with family, the happy birthday moment, cake cutting, and all the little in-between moments that make the day special.

This session was covered over 3 hours, allowing for a mix of relaxed portraits at the start and full event coverage throughout the celebration.
